Before the collapse, when the SHTF and everyone is in “it” for themselves, it is always good to align yourself with people who know medicine.We know we’ve preached the importance of doing it all on your own, security, and how a prepper must be prepared to protect his house or bug out shelter from those on the outside, but there is something to be said about numbers. They count.

And if you have a medic on your team that is excellent – especially if your medic has been trained in survival and understands what he or she might expect after the collapse.

Still medical training, basic and otherwise, is also necessary to know for the average survivalist who isn’t a nurse or doctor. First aid and CPR classes are great but will any of these come in handy should you or yours get shot?

Yes, it’s horrible to ponder but also a very real possibility when crazies come out and want to steal things they did not save themselves. Or, for that matter, there are always hunting accidents.

Maybe someone is out looking for a small game and instead of shooting a rabbit they hit you instead!?
