
Water powered flashlights will run continuously for about 30 minutes with tap water and about two hours with salt water.
If you found yourself in a survival situation, with no batteries, this project could provide you with a virtually limitless source of power for a flashlight – as long as you have access to water.
Here are the parts and materials you will need: PVC Pipe 4″ Long (3/4″Ø,) PVC Coupling 3/4″ to 1″, Recycled 3xLED Torch, Toroidal Core/ Bead, 2N3904 Gen. Purpose NPN Transistors, 1K Ohm Resistor (1/4w,) Cooper & Zinc Strip, Magnet Wire/ Copper Wire, 4 Sheets Of Tissue Paper, and a 2×2″ Sheet of Acetate.
Here are the tools and equipment you will need: Leatherman MultiTool, Soldering Iron, Hot Glue Gun, Teflon Tape, Super Glue
