Not too long ago, a person purchasing a silencer or suppressor needed one for one purpose and the purpose was not something that you discussed with polite dinner company.
To purchase one legally, you had to jump through hoops and convince interested parties that you were not needing such equipment for offing business partners, ex-spouses or guys muscling in on your illegal racketeering operation.
As we have become more concerned with hearing loss and noise pollution, though, suppressors and the need for them have become a normal part of any shooter's kit, be it for range practice or hunting.
There are now several high-end suppressors on the market and while they are not inexpensive, they will not break your bank.
On the next page, we run down a few.

What about a supressor with one many outter body and interchangeable inserts. Unscrew the ends, switch them and the insert to match the caliber, screw reassembled supressor onto your pistol.
It would be nice, but you have to let the government know an registered with them, which is not Wright, for it’s are business on what we use it for, not them.
But I like to hear the bang. Probably why I have hearing loss and tinnitus.
$1000 is affordable?
Probably won’t happen. The ATF just made even neoprene wipes a Class III item. I don’t think having a handful of suppressor parts would be cool with them.
If you have a real job and aren’t on drugs, sure.
Priorities. Either people have ’em, or nah…
Yea I guess my crack habit and oilfield job just get in the way. Thanks for the insight
To bad you have to register them and have a permit to even purchase just another way for the government to be your baby sitter
Oil filter costs less, does much the same.
Josey Wales would it still matter if everything like the government collapses?
Would it matter if the government collapses in a disaster? I’m curious..
Griffin armament makes that very suppressor
Can I get some lube with that, or are they just going in dry while FUCKING me? 1,000.00 gtfo here
10 month waiting list. 10 months for the govt. to accept or deny…….why.
Well duh but how?
Have always considered one!! My reasons for? Hearing protection, not scaring any more game than necessary, when engaging combatant, makes it harder for him to locate me! Same for other personell in same region… Reasons for not having one for each weapon? Budget and paranoid… Pretty sure those changes who are registered will be first targeted if the gun control ever becomes reality
Steven, agree with you on that, but I don’t think it will happen overnight, if it happens, it will have many causes, but it will be in steps, and as guns scare the politicians the most, cthey will be among first things outlawed….
Phil, I hate being a grammar$#%&!@* and write as I speak… But we have to use correct terminology in order to be understood… Sorry, wright is an artisan, and to possess is our….
