One of the major issues facing anyone living in the US is disruption of power.
Our electrical grid is a mess, and old, and some say rife for a long term outage. Weather in virtually all parts of the country, virtually every season, is a threat for regional power outages, sometimes lasting days and in extreme cases, weeks.
The fact is that almost all of us will be forced to endure a medium to long-term power outage at some point in the future, with very few exceptions.
When the power goes it out it is critical that you be able to function without it, particularly as it pertains to food preparation.
Luckily, there are still many non-electricity-reliant gadgets and appliances in your kitchen that you can use to help get through the rough patch.
