After an emergency takes place, one reality is there will be a ton of abandoned vehicles due to the severity of the aftermath.

Abandoned vehicles can provide people with a lot of materials, tools and other supplies that are easy to utilize post-collapse.

However, before taking from a vehicle that you are assuming is longer being used, it's important to make sure it has been abandoned. You can't take what you want from a car unless you've established that it has been left behind and the previous owner isn't coming back for it.

Once you have confirmed that the car is abandoned there is an unlimited amount of supplies that are fantastic to re-purposes for multiple uses.

Some of these supplies include mirrors, hoses, and the list goes on. Use these supplies and add them to your stash because at one time or another these items will be very useful.

    The least thing is petrol / gas but transfering battery power to a battery bank you can take away is worth it . Long term the springs , chassis and engine parts are made from high carbon steel so can be reforged & shaped into anything you want .

    I saw a special where the task was what to take from a crashed airplane, one ting that was interesting was the bottoms of the seats, they were used as a sort of snowshoe. Not applicable in all situations. They also took all of the cloth from the interior to use as you might need and the seat backs with the addition of the seat belts made a nice pack.
