Some of the Most Dangerous Cities in America Are Hard to Believe

For many people, any city is a dark, mysterious and dangerous place, with murderers, con men, rapists and muggers lurking behind every corner and ever bush.

This is of course a paranoid and wrong impression, but it has been that way for as long as we have had cities.

Because bad things do happen (everywhere) and usually make the news, fair or not, cities get blamed and claim infamy because of the actions of a tiny minority.

One misconception within a misconception that cities are hotbeds of crime is the reality that most of our largest cities are actually pretty safe.

Yes, crime happens, but the larger the city does not mean the more or the more heinous the crimes.

Sometimes, that picturesque city nestled among the mountains is more dangerous than the concrete canyons that have been given a bad name.
