When we were kids there was an old alley and from it, we discovered all sorts of unique, thrilling and dangerous things. We were kids so the danger did not really matter.

The “junk” we found was what counted and we would drag a lot of these things home; old tires, empty wooden boxes, and cinder blocks.

We remember building a fort with our brother with these things in the backyard and being very excited by our ingenuity — until Mom told Dad he really needed to have us take it down.

There were rusty nails involved, after all. But the thing that stuck out in our mind was how Dad kept the cinder blocks. See, even Dad knew a good thing when he saw it and so will you!
