5 Must Know Survivalist Fishing Tips

If you're out in the wild, eating fish can sustain you for an entire day or longer, depending on the size of the fish. In survivalist situations though, you may not have access to your fishing equipment like poles and bait etc. But even if you don't, there are still several things you can do that will help you catch fish. Being able to feed yourself is a survival necessity, so really there isn't a wrong way to do. But some methods are more effective than others, so it's in your best interest to learn as many things as you can to help improve chances of catching fish.

Obviously when you're in an emergency situation and you need fish for nourishment, you're not at liberty to select the type of weather you'd prefer. But it's helpful to keep a few things in mind regarding weather and fishing. Fish tend to feed more during warmer weather. Cold and cloudy days can also be good because fish tend to feel its safe for them to come out from hidden sheltered areas under water. Rain, providing its not too heavy, can also benefit you fishing skills because the rain droplets hitting the top of the body of water can help camouflage your appearance (if you're still).
