What fuels the confusion is when sites repeat the same so-called “facts” over and over again, which adds to everyone's belief that everything they're hearing is true. However, sometimes it isn't anything but true.
Similarly, this universal belief system is also affecting what you think is factual about knives.
Fact and fiction often get misconstrued, hence leading to confusion. After that, it can be difficult to figure out what to purchase in the land of weapons let alone know whether the weapon is flawed or high quality.
People who have knives should realize that the facts that were once true a hundred years may no longer be accurate today. That's why it's important to unmask those “truths,” so you're making sure you're stocking up the best weapons for Doomsday.

Despite most opinions, I’ve yet to find one that felt balanced. Excellent craftsmanship though, the neck knives are thicker than most. Masalong on the other hand, I’d trust above all else. Hand crafted from tool steel and great weight distribution

The properties of the steel matters just as much as the heat treat. Not sure where the author got his/her facts. Are they saying that 4140 and 1018 steels are basically the same thing?
