In these uncertain times, men and women want to feel safe. There are those preppers, survivalists, and homesteaders out there that have a “price is no object” policy when it comes to the security of their families and everything else they consider theirs and hold dear.
In this regard, high powered weapons are prized and if you or they can afford them, we say buy without guilt. Again, if you want the best and can afford it, go for it!
However, some of us out here cannot be as free with our hard-earned cash. It is not that we do not want all of the latest and greatest guns and rifles to be had but we have to consider not just the cost of the weapon but the ammunition as well.
In these tough and uncertain times, it is always a good idea to stock up on ammo but that can be difficult to do if it is just too expensive for our limited budget.

I’ll stick with my .308/.22/.223 all scoped and readily available inexpensive ammo. All can be used for hunting, cheap is never good and good is never cheap.

I was watching a program the other day where a man had about sixty guns, all sizes and types, locked in a safe room, with ammo, in his house, and I’m thinking “what to hell good is a gun, locked in a safe room AT HOME if you need one when you’re not home?” Why would anyone invest in that many guns when you can only shoot one at a time. You could use all the money you spend on all those guns and buy ammo for the guns you have. I have a good pump shotgun, a good big bore rifle, a good pistol, and two 22 autos. The rest of what my budget allowed was spent on ammo.
I’ll stick with the 7mil mag. and a 9mm on the side.

I disagree with the 7.62×54 rifle. The gun may be cheap but the only way to actually get decent round for it is to by rounds made by the wolf corporation. And it’s not cheap
This post has flaws. 1: a .22 round is hell to get a hold of anymore. 2: there is a pistol in while it’s titled “rifles”. 3: if you want something cheap and fun to shoot get a 12gauge.
Ruger 10/22, 12 gauge, 22 revolver, s+w 223/556. All affordable guns all cheap to shoot. A 9mm lots to choose from.

Because they are no longer “cheap”. And I would know cheap, I bought my M1944 back in 1999 at Dunhams Black Friday event for, literally, $3.10 out the door…..
