It's hard not to take certain things for granted. Everyday household items, for example, are just some items that will be precious and in high demand after SHTF.
Think about how it will be when the grid goes down. The reality is many of the stores will be bought out or looted, and the trains, trucks, and planes that used to bring in supplies will likely no longer be available. They'll be too concerned about safety to bring in supplies.
Depending on the SHTF situation on hand you may need to sit it out in a shelter for several weeks or more. When it comes to sitting tight, you will need to rely on stockpiled food for comfort and survival.
When the coast is clear people who didn't prepare for SHTF will come calling and will ask you if they can “borrow” a few things. At first, you may help them out being the good neighbor that you are, but after a while, you won't be able to continue handing out your stockpiled supplies.
To plan ahead before the collapse is here, check out 20 pivotal items that are currently affordable, but as soon as SHTF arrive these things will become very valuable.

Enjoyed this and took notes!
Duct tape, glow sticks, bandages, vitamins, condiments, booze, tobacco,$#%&!@*tickets$#%&!@*papers, aluminum foil, ammo.
There, saved ya a click.
And for those whose BOBs are looking a little weak…
1. Grain alcohol should be at the top of the list… I’d be here all night typing the uses.
2. Band-Aids make excellent fire starters for wet wood/environment. Roll out bandages and multiple sizes should be in every bag, or atleast a small med-pack to be carried by your pup or on your chest.
3. Nicotine and molasses come in handy for a few things too.
4. Every bag should have glow sticks, you can buy a box of 10 at dollar tree or Cyalume makes 12 hour ones for under $3 each. And when they’re spent, can bring a wet fire to life.
5. Vitamins are very important but typically have a 2-5 year expiration date, and a dose of expired B vitamins can make one very very sick.
6. And entire sheet of aluminum foil will fold down to about the size of a deck of cards. Good for cooking, reflecting heat, purifying water, eating out of, lining boots and jackets, cleaning, storing things, moving embers, drying wood, sandpaper, etc.
Best advice I have is to bring your bag and have a “day camp”. See how well you can survive off your bag. Writing down things that need to be added, and disregarding things you don’t need…unless for mental stability such as a picture, bible, or book.
Really the only way to be sure you have what you need is to go out and use it.
We put up several pints of whiskey!! We don’t drink it but it has lots of uses and good to barter!
only thing i need is glow sticks and tobacco.
Anything above 40% is all you need! Just a splash can save you when being attacked by yellow jackets, I mean the list is pretty spectacular as far as what all you can use it for
After SHTF, a bag of silver coins or a solid gold watch won’t get you a bowl of beans at my house. A fresh venison carcass will probably get you the VIP treatment with a day or 2 of safe, warm lodging. And then, be on your way. I’ll pack up some of the meat for you to take.

I have 90% of that stuff but not enough if shtf I need to re up good looking out g
Lol yea no prob
Most of this stuff you can buy at the 99c store if your Gona use it as barter anyway
If you have your personal stag then quality can count
I feel you on that
I still say stock up on liquor and smokes. Because you can go 3 weeks without food 3 days without water. But most people I know can’t go 3 minutes without a smoke once they run out. So they give you something you need for something they need. Work smart not hard.
Sunscreen, really?
If you think cheap wine is good forever, you don’t know anything about wine. You can age some good wines, but most wine will be “Dead” within a few years.

Don’t bother with flour. Get a mill and whole grains. They will last significantly longer and have a lot more nutritional value.
TP !! n coffee !! 😉
I swear that looks just like the building of Sanford and Son the TV show just painted a different color
Alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, medical supplies, ammunition, technical manuals.
Too damn much clickbait! Clicked thru 3 pages for just the 1st 4 items! That’s BS! I thought FB was banning that type of drawn out clickbait?
After a hurricane came through, three more things that were good to have were clothesline, clothes pins and tarps.
SOCKS!!! lol 😀
Booze lots and lots of booze
Tyvek tape is much better than duct tape. Duct tape is neither heat nor moisture resistant.
Hot sauce
God guns grub gold and getaway plan
Havent used it for anything other than crawl space insulation, does seem to last though. Have to try it out.
I like gorilla tape personally, works on any surface as long as its wiped down first.
Glow sticks, why didnt I think of that, you never know when you’ll roll up on an apocalyptic rave…..lol
Ammo gets whatever you need, you can hunt and barter with it. Who doesnt need bullets?
Good light source, doesnt corrode or require power. Not always a fire around or time to build one. Plus, can fuel a fire with spent ones, use for night fishing, traps and alarms, marking trails.
Would be nice to stumble upon a music festival or rave though lol
Kim Compton-Lovelace
Good list; add dried beans, rice, and honey to the list as well as water purifying stuff.
Ammo. I’ll take whatever I need with ammo.
Thank you!
Nobody ever remembers salt or sugar
Everybody forgets sunscreen
Good luck when the bullets run out and people value food more than metal!
You get out of populated areas I happen to have a house away from people in upstate New York
The goal isn’t to hurt people The goal is to survive
Sure, but what do you do when the ammo runs out?
Bullets take a fairly stable economy to continue to produce and so, even if it takes 5-10 years, bullets will eventually run out too
Yeah, but then they wouldn’t have made money on every single ad on every single page you were on! You’re an awful selfish person!
Ok tony thanks for info. Ill keep three weeks of cigs saved back. No food no water. When my 3 weeks are up then i wont worry about anything else!!! This world is getting so bad its not worth living here. No im not suicidal its just when everything falls its going fast and bad. It will make the depression look like a b- day party.
Linda Wilburn I’m with you if it’s gonna happen bring it on at least I’ll go happy
I have a bottle of everclear in my bob for my alcohol stove, antiseptic and medicinal purposes haha.
Sounds weird but have some fish antibiotics also.
Antibiotics. Fish antibiotics if that’s all you can get.
Trust me, being fair haired it is my bag, lol.
Fish antibiotics? Like the little droplet things? What for?
