20 Affordable Items That’ll be Priceless Post-Collapse

food stamps store

There are so many things we take for granted. Little things like toilet paper, for instance, will be worth its weight in gold post-collapse.

Think about it logically. When SHTF stores are bought out, or everything will be looted, and trains, trucks, and planes that usually bring items into the states will be few and far between due to safety concerns.

Depending on the SHTF situation at hand, you and your family may need to hunker down in your shelter or bug out home for weeks or even months. If this is the case, you will need to rely on everything you have stockpiled for survival and comfort.

Eventually, when the coast is clear for the time being, neighbors and other preppers who are ill-prepared will show up and ask you if you have this and that. You may give them an item or two out of the goodness of your heart, but not for long.

If you want to be ahead of everyone else before SHTF then check out these 20 items that are currently inexpensive, but as soon as the grid goes down, you better believe these things and more will become priceless.

Don’t waste your time with this click-bait.
They list two items per page and after two pages it’s time for a “break” for even more ads…

This items are disposable, rather than hoarding them up try and find a reusable alternative and stock up on those. Tissues should be replaced with handkerchiefs, feminine hygiene products can be replaced with a whole host of reusable products on the market. Think outside the box.

It also stops bleeding. Got shot and don’t have time to suture? Put sugar in the wound until you get to a quiet place.

feminine hygeine products– think outside the box… good one

Several of the items just make me shake my head. Yes they have a use however I do not want a single use item any more than necessary. Glow Sticks how about a hand cranked flashed light or a lantern. Tissue, really handkerchief. Same with butt wiping. Six inch wide strip of old soft cloth. Wash it out.
Is this a bug out list, if so forget it, extra stuff to have on hand sure.

salt doesn’t work as well as sugar. however if you make a salt water mixture and soak the wound, it will clot faster.

Don’t like to go through a slide show to see “the list”. Too many links have slide show crap to endure

Literally like 3 things on this list are even relatively useful…. and are not even close to a necessity expect maybe ammo… which without the correct gun, is pointless

Yeah… Salt and alcohol. Everything else can be killed or harvested. Canned foods sure if you have a permanent shelter. I’ll entertain myself and read your ad bomb laden article anyway.

Wilderness survival is a total different ball game from social or economical collapse where you have to bug in

Lets see, I can grow herbs of all kinds, brew beer, make wine, and distill spirits. TP is a good one as is tissue, though handkerchiefs could be a substitute and they’re washable. Cigarettes don’t store well, besides I live close enough to tobacco country that’s not even worth buying…

  14. Nathaniel Reynolds said:

I would rather filter, then bottle and let cook in the sun for a few hours to pasturize the water, or boil it.

  15. Don Ditton said:

I make jerky every day, at least 100+ pds a month all vacuum sealed and tested good out to 18 months. I also sell it.

Still 85 percent of this list are luxury items. Your security Will be a much bigger issue in an urban situation.

  17. Nathaniel Reynolds said:

I already make my own beer, of course all I need is to build a still and I got liquid and herbal meds as needed.

Andy, I am going to sell bags of leaves (Poison Ivy) as the new toilet paper when the real paper runs out, lol

  19. Jack McSwain said:

Cigarettes won’t keep too long. They become stale. Even trying to freeze them will be futile – in a MaxSHTF grid down event there will be no electricity to power freezers. If they could be kept frozen thawing causes a moisture problem.
If tobacco were a prepping item for barter I’d store seeds. Tobacco is a great insecticide and it could be cured for ‘roll yer owns’.
Stock seeds and rolling papers instead of packs of cigs.

You know what you’ve done here?
There will be a run on shop wrags at the dollar discount stores and a nationwide shortage by Wednesday..lol.

I’d ditch sugar for coffee… And ditch candy for salt….

I have been making wine for 25 years and a stock pile of cheap wine still sounds like a good idea.
