black mamba

When you stop to consider what the most dangerous animals in the world are, you most likely think of the big predators that are at the top of the food chain. All the while the phrase “lions and tigers and bears, oh my!” comes to mind as you think about a huge animal with big claws and teeth, such as a grizzly bear.

Even though that's normal thinking, the big predators are not always the most dangerous. You may be surprised to find out that the scariest of animals in the world aren't what you think of as being the most dangerous, but sometimes the size of the animals does not equal danger.

The most threatening animals in the world don't all make the headlines when they attack, but that doesn't take away from their ferociousness.

Many of these predators are small and even innocent looking, but don't allow that to fool you. These are the terrifying animals you should stay far, far away from (even though the last animal on the slide will be challenging).

Find out what some of the most frightening and deadly animals in the world are, beginning with a create that's common in North America.

I live in the Mountains, the high country the only deadly animals I have to deal with are grizzly bears, black bears, mountain lions and wolves. I don’t plan on ever living anywhere else.

    Learn about good snakes, too!
One of our king snakes just gave another example of why we try not to kill them. That little guy killed a 4′ water moccasin at the edge of our front yard. About 50′ from where I was working today.
