10 SHTF Vehicles That Will Never Let a Survivalist Down When Doomsday is Here

off road vehicle

Most survivalists believe they have prepared for just about everything when it comes to SHTF, but the reality is there is always more you can do than stockpiling food, building the latest weapons, and having the best bug out bag.

Planning and stockpiling is important, but so is making sure you have a solid travel plan in place when Doomsday arrives. Know where to meet loved ones, where you'll travel to and what vehicle you'll be driving is just as important.

Even if you don't have a bug out location set up, a rugged vehicle should be on your SHTF master plan. After all, when the police have abandoned their post and the grocery stores have been wiped clean, it'll be up to you to keep the criminals away.

A vehicle you can depend on during Doomsday should not only keep you safe, but it should also be fuel efficient. A modern vehicle unfortunately just won't work as a bug out vehicle.

To make it through Doomsday in one piece, it's up to you to select a bug out vehicle you can count on. When you must get out of dodge, do so in a vehicle that'll keep you safe and sound. Check out 10 vehicles you can count on after the break.

Inline 6 motors are pretty good, just leak a lot. After that they used the Caravan motor and modified variants.

Here’s my #1. If shtf, how are you goi g to get gas, diesel or bio-diesel? I’ve always believed in having an old 4×4 ready to bug out in. But you’re going to get about 400 miles. Hard to store gas because it loses its bite over time especially with ethanol in it.

The old blazer is in this list. Yep. I’ve had many old Chevy trucks and Blazers. You can run them on 3 cylinders, no brakes, cracked heads, bald tires, and they still keep ticking.

Grab a old peterbilt 379. Weld a big$#%&!@*railroad cattle guard to the front. Grab a tanker of diesel and you could cross the continent multiple times

Lol, yup spend $10 grand on a hilux in the states then spend another $10 grand fixing all the rust. Then have no money for survival gear.

Yeah the bug out vehicle is the body, and the mind the conductor of operations. All you need.

Best vehicle would be a diesel with a manual transmission. Dodge any 12 valve Cummins, Ford 6.9 or 7.3 idi, GM 6.2 or 6.5 non computer controlled.

Well if shtf I don’t think you will be driving much but personally I like the old Toyota Land Cruisers

My Escalade will do until I come across something better. That’s where my guns come in handy as well. Bet your$#%&!@*when SHTF I ain’t looking for friends.

Jeep 4.0 I6 motors are tanks. They are often neglected until a problem arises, but that’s on the owner not the engine.

    Toyota 4Runner 3.0, and a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0, I won’t need any “roads”.
