When the collapse arrives it would be ideal to stay in a nice warm home where we feel safe and comfy. In our home we likely know how to handle situations because it's within our comfort zone.
However, some SHTF situations such as a natural disaster, violence, or long-lasting power outages may force us to bug out and find shelter elsewhere.
If you plan to bug out or head to a bug out location getting your vehicle and traveling to a shelter that you've already built is wise. However, there are still threats you should be wary of that could make traveling just as dangerous as it would be to stay at home.
That's why when you're preparing ahead of time for SHTF situation you should not only be aware of what tools, food, skills you might need, and supplies to store, you should also be aware of the potential dangerous that may come your way.
It's better to have an idea of what could happen now as opposed to being surprised and reacting too late when they do happen! It's up to you to keep yourself and your family safe.
No one wants to encounter a widespread disaster, but imagining possible threats now will help you prepare ahead of time.
