The United States is truly blessed in many, many ways, not the least of which is a National Park System that literally offers something for everyone.

Like swamps? We have a National Park for you. Mountains? Take your pick. Desert? Yup. How about oceans? Of course. Wildlife your thing? You need to decide what wildlife and what habitat you want to see it. How about history? That too.

And also, our National Parks offer rivers, streams, woods, bogs, salt marshes, foothills, canyons, volcanoes, virtually any type of weather, you name it.

There are even a few with all that in one iteration or another.

So while maintaining a National Park bucket list with the goal of visiting them all is an awesome plan, for most of us, hitting those closest to home and a few high points is the most reasonable goal and expectation.
