As we have discussed before, fish are probably the easiest source of meat protein there is in a SHTF moment or long-term survival situation.

You can catch fish virtually everywhere and in all but the most toxic of settings, they are safe to eat in the short-term; just make sure you prepare them properly.

If you find yourself in one of those situations, without your gear, however, improvising to catch fish is vital to your overall fishing strategy success.

One way to do this is to build a fish trap – using your surroundings – in this case, using vines to form a fish trap.

Vines are available virtually everywhere and depending on what type of vines are native to your area, you have many different options for the type of fish trap.
