In the aftermath of a survival situation where the power is knocked out, our electronic devices will literally be living on borrowed time.

Whatever you have in your phone's battery and any other power storage devices you have is literally all you will have until you can get to where there is power.

If the survival scenario is dire enough, getting to where there is power might be a major undertaking and in some cases, impossible.

In either case, you do have an option – if you can locate a car charger, some duct tape, metal key, charging cable and a 9-volt battery.

That is all you need to make sure you can get your device some emergency juice.

Obviously, you should use this as a last resort, but in a survival situation, you have to use every resource available to you.
