When we think of fuses, we think of miners lighting dynamite, blowing out mountains for the minerals they have or to make a large hole so cars can drive under the mountain to get where they are going.

I could never see myself lighting a fuse and lobbing it at a wild animal or even my grumpy neighbor, as much as I might want to (don’t tell him I said that!). Therefore, I had to wonder as I wrote this, what would I use a fuse for?

Many preppers and survivalist can answer this question far better than myself, and I will leave them to it.

However, the creation of a fuse is something that is rather interesting. It is not as if a piece of twine can be hooked to an explosive device and it will burn down to that moment of detonation. It needs to be primed for it.
