From just about the beginning of human history, privileged folks have used their status to ensure if stuff gets really nasty, they have a way out.
They may laugh at so-called “preppers,” but there are always more than a few who secretly prepare for a survival crisis as much if not more than the people they are laughing at.
The key difference is if a survival crisis arises, you and I will be wherever we are at that point and will have to cope as best we can.
The rich guys will have jetted off to their hideaways to ride it out in relative luxury.
Recently, several Silicon Valley and Wall Street bigwigs have been buying up land in New Zealand just for that purpose.
