Pine trees are kind of the “hidden survival tools” that exist almost everywhere.

It virtually does not matter the setting, pine trees are present in rural, suburban and urban settings, arid and moist areas, North, South, East and West, mountains, valleys and everywhere in between.

There simply are very little areas that the pine tree does not grow, which means, because they have so many practical purposes, pine trees are in many ways the ultimate, natural, survival tool.

One part of the pine tree is pine tar.

This can be used to create glue, resin, chewing gum and even as a fire starter!

Pitch sticks are sticks with pine tar on them that are used to ignite fires.
