Hiding in Plain Sight: Ingenious Ways to Discreetly Wear SHTF Gear

hide-survival-gear

The reason why hiding survival gear are endless, but the two most important reasons come to mind: It is convenient and it is also to keep you safe.

Convenience because you are keeping the gear on your body (for women perhaps a paracord necklace or bracelet?) and that way you don't have to pack it in a bug out bag.

Safety can mean several things, but if we take it down to a common denominator, it is never wise to let everyone know that you are on your way to becoming a survival expert.

Once a situation goes downhill, you will likely become the go-to guy or gal for advice, which is fine, but the element you should consider is that what you have in your arsenal can become a dangerous proposition.

In other words, it's always better to leave people guessing or unaware of what you have on your person.

just read a book where a man had sewed a small pin knife to the back of and inside his jeans….and of course it helped him excape the dreaded zip ties and he got away from his captors.

There are multiple articles on how to disguise yourself and hide kit. In a real SHTF I wonder whether or not exhibiting gear such as a shoulder slung AR acts as a deterrent making you LESS likely to be assaulted? If you need to extricate your long gun from a pack is it accessible enough?
