For the vast majority of us, survival situations are rare occurrences.

Think about it.

While almost all of us experience a short-term disruption to our daily lives because of a survival incident, the majority of us can go years without experiencing anything depending on where you live and very few of us ever experience a truly draconian survival event.

Hurricanes, tornadoes, major earthquakes, blizzards, man-made disasters are relatively rare, in general, and specifically, most of us just never run into one.

That does not mean, though, that it is wise to ignore basic preparation for a survival situation at a minimum.
