While we would all love to buy survival items new, to get them fresh from the factory, and know we are the first to use them, it is not always practical. We know, for the most part, many of the items needed but if we were to buy them all mint it would really cut into our living budget.
Remember, while we are preparing for a disaster we still need to function normally, which can be anything from paying rent to going out for a meal and movie occasionally. Not to mention our monthly bills!
Our best bet is to go out and find bargains, perhaps some used wares, and utilize them instead.
Why not go to the Goodwill? The benefits are great! Not only are the items checked first, to make sure they are in good working order, but if you really explore a Goodwill store you will find a great many really valuable survival items!
