[VIDEO] When SHTF, Do You Know How Many Magazines You’ll Need?

If you have to use your firearms in a SHTF scenario, or a “grid-down” situation,  regular use will eventually degrade your ammunition magazines and if you are in a situation where you go through all the bullets in your magazine, you will need to have at least a few replacements.

The last thing you want to have happen is to have to stop and reload – especially if it is a life threatening situation!

Generally, most of us have a few extras for each firearm, but how many should you have in stock?

There is no “right answer” to this, but one thing is for sure – you probably do not have enough.

The video on the next page discusses this issues as well as provides some tips on how to find quality magazines on the cheap.

I only keep 10 loaded. I figure I’ll be taken out before I get off 300 rounds.

Well one needs to ask their self should i go out like a video game or should I cautiously wait and save my ” clips ” better yet a silent killer is the way to live at this point. Therefore can you make an arrow for starters?

Just one. When the world ends, there won’t be anything or anyone to shoot.

I have only three, and only 300 rounds. If I don’t get time to reload, then humanity isn’t worth fighting for and before I or anyone gets through 150 rounds, an AR will need cleaning. Unfortunately the AK is a superior weapon in that area, but for accuracy, you need the AR 15. Lots of oil can help, but a grain of sand in the wrong spot and it’s useless. But I have an AR15, I know it backwards and forwards.

Guns run out of bullets, swords dull and break. My point, when the shooting starts always have a plan B

Mags and ammo are like firewood, when you think you have enough, better go back and get more.

You only need what you can carry, have your ammo in different locations, unless you live in an underground missle silo

None if the world ends. Why would you need magazines if we are all dead?

Good point. I think he meant shtf because he says grid down situation.

How many can you carry? Standard battle load is 6 mags +1 in the well, that’s what we carried. Now if you have more great but that’s the minumum. Also, no plastic mags. Get aluminum or steel. They last longer, feed better won’t break or melt. It’ll they malfunction it’s the spring and follower which you can easily replace so buy a few of them also and your mags will last longer than you will.

None. This is a poorly worded question. When the world ends, it will be to late to fight.

More than you can carry on a bugout is just leaving ammo to potential threats

I’ve had plastic, not pmag, and they wouldn’t feed for$#%&!@* Switched to metal, steel and aluminum, and no issues. Plus they won’t melt, snap, crack, or break.
