[VIDEO] When SHTF, Do You Know How Many Magazines You’ll Need?

If you have to use your firearms in a SHTF scenario, or a “grid-down” situation,  regular use will eventually degrade your ammunition magazines and if you are in a situation where you go through all the bullets in your magazine, you will need to have at least a few replacements.

The last thing you want to have happen is to have to stop and reload – especially if it is a life threatening situation!

Generally, most of us have a few extras for each firearm, but how many should you have in stock?

There is no “right answer” to this, but one thing is for sure – you probably do not have enough.

The video on the next page discusses this issues as well as provides some tips on how to find quality magazines on the cheap.

They’ll never see me or hear me. I have no intention of engaging the military or a paramilitary group in an urban theater. I’m running g for the hills to survive. I’m not saying guns are bad or don’t arm yourselves. I guess I should be more careful with my words. Then again, it’s fuckin Facebook, no matter what you type your wrong in someone’s eyes. Good luck with the apocalypse everyone. I’m done with this thread.

Need to count again, but fairly certain I have 24+ of both my AR and my AK mags. If I’m in a prolonged firefight that runs through all of that, I’ll have bigger problems on my hands

Should go get some more. Have speed loaders for the 38 but should but a few magazines for my Glock for the “just in case SHTF”

That depends on if its the same day the SHTF or a month after the fact. As a blacksmith/tinker i can make my own guns, magazines and ammo. So the longer it is after the SHTF the more i will have.

Since I’m an expert, I figure 30 down for each magazine. How many did you invite to the party?

.45 with multiple mags in its go bag,S&W .357mag with red dot and six speed loaders on it’s holster belt and 80 rounds of 7.62/54R in ammo pouch. (Because sometimes the bad guy likes to hide behind things) . And the rest in the jeep, and go. It’s a good start.

My question is why is the mag in the picture loaded with all tracer rounds?

  14. Tony LoCoco said:

That’s why I became a distributor I sell about 200 mags a week for .50 over cost so I can arm everyone and ammo etc.
