If you have to use your firearms in a SHTF scenario, or a “grid-down” situation, regular use will eventually degrade your ammunition magazines and if you are in a situation where you go through all the bullets in your magazine, you will need to have at least a few replacements.
The last thing you want to have happen is to have to stop and reload – especially if it is a life threatening situation!
Generally, most of us have a few extras for each firearm, but how many should you have in stock?
There is no “right answer” to this, but one thing is for sure – you probably do not have enough.
The video on the next page discusses this issues as well as provides some tips on how to find quality magazines on the cheap.

They’ll never see me or hear me. I have no intention of engaging the military or a paramilitary group in an urban theater. I’m running g for the hills to survive. I’m not saying guns are bad or don’t arm yourselves. I guess I should be more careful with my words. Then again, it’s fuckin Facebook, no matter what you type your wrong in someone’s eyes. Good luck with the apocalypse everyone. I’m done with this thread.
It’s better to have too much than to not have enough.
As many as I have at time plus however many I acquire afterwards.
Enough
Need to count again, but fairly certain I have 24+ of both my AR and my AK mags. If I’m in a prolonged firefight that runs through all of that, I’ll have bigger problems on my hands
Never enough …
Should go get some more. Have speed loaders for the 38 but should but a few magazines for my Glock for the “just in case SHTF”
And plenty of ammo and guns lying on the ground.
Only ONE PAID CONSTANT PROFESSIONAL TERRORIST!
Enough for a lifetime!
Many
YOUR NOT FULL KNOWLEDGE WELL AWARE OVER PAID OVER AND EMBEZZLING EXTORTION ABOVE THE LAW BLOOMBERG ROYAL PAIN IN YOUR$#%&!@*ROTHCHILD INTERNATIONAL!
I am pretty well set with my mags and speed loaders , need to reload more ammo though !
You can’t have too many magazines
Never enough
None I will have 25 75rd ak drums
That depends on if its the same day the SHTF or a month after the fact. As a blacksmith/tinker i can make my own guns, magazines and ammo. So the longer it is after the SHTF the more i will have.
All of them
Enough, and then some.
ACTUALLY IT COMES DOWN TO, HOW GOOD A SHOT ARE YOU, MOST PEOPLE COULDNT HIT A BULL STANDING IN FRONT OF THEM.
I don’t even own a gun…honest!
As many as I can get!!!
Magazines are cheap so whatever you can afford is a good start….
When the times REALLY comes and you need them, they’ll be lying on the ground……..
2:1 ammo:mags
Since I’m an expert, I figure 30 down for each magazine. How many did you invite to the party?
Magazines are like both bullets and guns, you can simply never have enough!!
9mm-12……. 45…….8
Enough
All I can carry
SEIGA 308……4-10 shot
1911 .45…….2-10 shot
12ga ( pump )…5 in the tube
.45 with multiple mags in its go bag,S&W .357mag with red dot and six speed loaders on it’s holster belt and 80 rounds of 7.62/54R in ammo pouch. (Because sometimes the bad guy likes to hide behind things) . And the rest in the jeep, and go. It’s a good start.
My question is why is the mag in the picture loaded with all tracer rounds?
I will have enough, hope everybody does.
Triple the amount you do…. because I’m in California 🙁
Not enough
I’m a distributor always keep 500 at the house.
Don’t tell anyone what you got ! Wtf over,,,,
Nice wish I had that many
. ₩.
As many as you want ……….. many many many of every caliber
That’s why I became a distributor I sell about 200 mags a week for .50 over cost so I can arm everyone and ammo etc.
Not enough……. Ammo either.
Bunches
Lots
You can never have too much ammo or too many magazines!
Not enough
