In a survival situation, where a dependable flame is needed, there are very few substitutes and with modifications, Zippo goes from legendary to epic!
Any survival kit – be it ordinary camping / hunting / fishing, bug-out or a long-term survival get-up, is not complete without at least one Zippo Lighter.
That is a standard Zippo, but with the modifications outlined in this video, the lighter becomes almost indispensable.

a petrol lighter will dry out within a month unused . I’ve had several Zippo lighters over three decades and prefer a gas lighter as a back up . If your adamant on carrying a petrol lighter carry a fuel canister as well .
A dollar bic lighter will go a long way.
Your mom is a powerful survival tool.
But a zippo can be filled with different flyids to make it light .also has diff. Parts that can be used.the cotton inside etc…
