(VIDEO) Spending Too Much Money on Air Conditioning? Try Putting Together This Inexpensive Homemade Air Conditioner Instead!

homemade air conditioner

Running a traditional air conditioner puts unnecessary strain on your wallet, the power grid, and the environment. That’s why you should use the video below to make your own A/C unit from scratch. Check out the video for great step-by-step instructions:

In just an hour or two, counting the time it takes to gather all of the supplies, you could have yourself a pretty effective little air conditioning unit.

Of course, it won’t do anything to solve the problem of humidity, but just cooling the air should feel pretty amazing by itself, especially on those days when just walking outside feels like you’re stepping into an oven.

By far, the best place to install one of these creations is in your garage, where more than likely you have no A/C to begin with but have more than enough projects to keep you busy.

Wouldn’t the dry ice displace the oxygen in the room?

Not to mention Dave Nuz, the cost of the dry ice is far more than the cost of running A/C. It costs me about $15/month to run mine.

It could cause hypercapnia (elevated carbon dioxide in the blood) It causes dizziness, in creased heart beat and high blood pressure among other things! I would rather stay hot than take a chance!

I’ve seen this same setup, but they use a frozen 1 gal jug of water

A new take on what is called a swamp cooler. Block of ice in front of a fan done that the bucket handles the melting water or you could use cooler ice packs of one gallon jugs of frozen water. NEVER use dry ice.

Yes! fill your home with carbon dioxide and never worry about air conditioning prices again. Cuz dead people don’t pay bills.

That’s the one the one but a small solar panel to run the fan. If you stick your head in the bucket of ice water, you’ll stay a lot cooler!!!

I think you’re trying to thin The Herd eliminate some of the idiots by replacing the oxygen in the room with CO2 use ice stay alive a large insulated water jug works better then a 5 gallon bucket this is good for one day in a tent or cabin this is not cheaper you must freeze the water to make the ice

I made one with the frozen gallon jug. What a crock. This does not work.

I used two styrofoam minnow buckets in a five gallon bucket just like the picture. It does work, but as said, the colder you can keep the ice the better it does.

Ummm, no! Do this in a confined space and you’re emitting too much carbon dioxide from the dry ice that’ll be hazardous for you to breath.
