
It never ceases to amaze just how many uses one can glean from a simple tree. In reality, though, primitive cultures relied heavily on their knowledge of trees and their uses in order to survive from one day to the next.
A pine tree, for instance, is one of the most useful trees out there. It's soft and flexible wood makes it ideal for building, its sap makes for an excellent natural adhesive and sealant, its pine nuts are a rich source of protein and fat, and its needles can be steeped like tea to create a hot drink with a ton of Vitamin C.
