Any survival situation brings with it an increased risk of injury – including traumatic injury.

With all the possible ways to cut, tear, chafe or gash yourself, it is almost a wonder everyone in a survival situation does not have an injury to show for it.

That reality might mean you have to use sutures to close a wound.

If that ever happens and medical treatment is not available or easily accessible, you had better understand how to do it and do it correctly!

While we have all seen television shows or movies that make suturing seem easy, the reality is there is a lot of science to it to make sure the wound heals correctly with minimal scarring.
