Being able to start a fire, especially in a survival situation is pretty critical – without it, you could, in some environments, die = with it, you get several, major benefits.

You can warm yourself, cook food, improve your morale and have a defensive tool if you need it!

But starting a fire in all but the optimum circumstances can pose a challenge; you do not want to have to do it by yourself the first time in a survival situation (so practice doing it) and you should use all the help you can muster!
