The following video shows you just how easy it is to cut off the top part of the salt box and fix it to the mason jar lid. You can view the video below. Wow, this is clever!
We think this mason jar hack is pretty cool and it might just change the way you eat in the great outdoors. Need a little bit of flavor on your food? This should help and if you're short on supplies at your bug out cabin you can make this in a jiffy.

Ditch the cardboard and put the salt in a plastic bag. Next.
2 problems I see here. 1) Cardboard may get wet but glass breaks. You can separate cardboard from salt but you can’t see glass in a pile of slat. Probably why they package it that way. 2) Glass is HEAVY. Any hiker / camper tries to reduce how much they lug into the woods not add to it. How about just using a campers hack and putting the whole cardboard salt dispenser into a gallon sized zip lock like the other stuff in your backpack?
What’s wrong with leaving it in it’s original container?
He puts it In a mason jar.

hahahahahahahahahahah seriously…. What’s wrong with leaving it in it’s original container?
The advantage I can think is is the salt container is a little more susceptible to moisture than a Mason Jar. But that cardboard lid on the Mason Jar would suffer the same weakness.
He never clicks on these type of headlines. Just how annoying is this clickbait?
High n dry
Really!> Just buy another container of salt.
