If you were stuck in a survival situation, what three tools would you absolutely have to have, regardless of the crisis you faced?

While everyone probably agrees on a durable, sharp knife, the other two are open for debate.

In an optimal survival situation, you have your survival kit and enough tools and supplies to make it through with minimal inconvenience.

If you could only have three things, though, your entire approach would have to change – so you could take advantage of what you had on hand and not be crippled by what you did not have.
