Little else can raise the hair on your neck like a large and hungry shark circling your survival raft. What can you do to make it through the situation? Though you may be terrified, there's a certain way to handle a potential life-threatening situation like this. Find out below.

A lot of times, sharks are merely curious and show up to investigate the potential food prospects of a situation. They’ve also learned that many boats (mainly sport fisherman) are perfectly willing to throw highly edible chum into the water.

To them, your raft is just another boat and therefore it may have plenty of food in the water around it. The main thing to remember is that sharks, for the most part, don’t hunt humans. Keep a cool head and wait for the shark to get bored and eventually you’ll be right back to sailing to your new island.
