Wool is one of the most versatile textiles in existence; it has very few natural enemies and is so durable that in most cases, you will wear it out before it tears or rots.
Moths are real enemies of wool, however. Left alone, they can destroy a sweater or suit in a matter of days so you must do what you can to repel these destructive insects; here is how.
The combination of the herbs below will make a delicious, moth repellant sachet for your drawers or closets, but if some of the ingredients aren't available to you, or you aren't fond of those particular scents, just use dried lavender by itself.
Materials
• 1 oz. dried lavender
• 1 oz. dried rosemary
• 1 bay leaf per sachet
• Sachet bags
Instructions
1: In a large bowl, combine your ingredients. Mix well.
2. Scoop heaping tablespoons into your sachet bags, filling them about 3/4 of the way full.
3. Add a bay leaf and pull the drawstrings to close your sachet.
4. Place your sachet in a drawer, or place around a hanger in your closet.
This combination of herbs is a great, natural repellent of moths, which are murder on wool. Used in combination with cedar shavings and your wool clothes are almost fail-safe protected from moths.
