One of the most controversial aspects of being a survivalist is self-defense; people get worked up over firearms and none of us really ever want to be in a life and death situation.

Yet, in a SHTF moment, if it leads to a long-term survival crisis, being able to defend yourself, property, belongings and family is a critical priority and part of that is being able to shoot a firearm accurately, sometimes at long range.

Is it a skill you will definitely use?

Probably not, but in a survival situation, you never know and not knowing means you have to be prepared for as many surprises as possible, which might mean using your firearm, long-range for self-defense or to secure food.
