If you don't think you can get bit by a venomous snake while you're bugging out, then you're wrong. I should know because when I was a teenager my dad got bit by a venomous snake. And all he was doing was gardening out in our backyard.
Since this snake happened to be a baby rattlesnake it made it difficult to identify, which being able to identify it may or may not have saved my dad a trip to the emergency room.
This brings me to my next point. Did you know that if you can identify a venomous snake your odds of not being bit improve? Sure, you may come across a venomous snake at the wrong time and place. But — if you come across a snake and know it's venomous you can act and fast.
Learning how to identify snakes has many benefits. By studying their colors and head shape you can recognize the deadliest of snakes. If you're out in the wilderness when the grid goes down knowing what snake you're dealing with can be life saving.
As I mentioned earlier, being able to identify a snake doesn't mean you won't get bit. But it does give you an advantage to back the hell away if possible and if you do get bit, you can tell the person helping you what snake it was.
So the next time you're bugging out and you come across a snake and you have no idea what type of snake it is, I would suggest you study your venomous snakes. You may not think you can get bit, but if my dad did so can you.
Next, learn how to identify a copperhead snake and five other snakes that are venomous. As a survivalist you should posess the skills of knowing how to identify deadly snakes — before it's too late.
