Nature is chock full of stuff that can injure, maim and even kill you. This is particularly true if you are in a survival situation or any situation where you do not have common amenities and safeguards available.

Modern life has all but ruled out most threats, like dying in a manure pit or getting chewed up in a harvester, but there are still plenty of ways you can harm yourself, even in today's largely static lifestyle.
