BACKHOME is not the extent of what you need in your survival kit, but it is in a very good foundation.

It also can serve as a quick reference guide if you are in a SHTF moment without your normal kit and have to build rapidly one from scratch.

Obviously, most survival kits are a good deal more extensive than one built on the BACKHOME concept.

As a foundation, however, it is a good start that gives you a minimum of survival tools above and beyond what else you add.
