It is springtime! While April showers may bring May flowers, the warmer weather also has a habit of bringing out what some might think are the most unnecessary of outdoor creatures!
Granted, there are those out there who love snakes. There is something about their slithering, beady eyes, and what seems like a constant enigmatic smile that thrills a serpent connoisseur.
However, even the most experienced of snake handlers make an effort to identify which snake is safe and which is not. Believe it or not, even they have been known to mistake a deadly viper as harmless occasionally!
Therefore, when it comes time to bug-out, we suggest you prepare to identify the snakes you and your family find yourself living round. There may not be a doctor about to save a life so identification is more than vital, as is treating a snake bite should it happen.
Go to the next page and read up on six (6) deadly and venomous snakes!

I couldn’t give a$#%&!@* I live in the UK.
What….yall dont have snakes over yonder?
That one looks like dinner
All I see is one kind of snake and that’s a dead snake
Daniel Duck We have adders but I’ve never seen one. I’m 47 and I’ve been playing in the great outdoors my entire life. I’ve never heard of a death caused by an adder. We have hedgehogs though. They can give you quite a fright lol
most people turn into huge babies around the smallest snake anyway. ive seen grown men almost cry just because they are deathly afraid of snakes.
If I come face-to-face with one, I’m not looking long enough to make an identification, so……
They are all deadly till pronounced dead and food.
Pussies
For the most part snakes avoid people even if there poisonous.
yes-dead!
The post picture looks like a Bushmaster
How about just staying away from them? Always works for me.
and another thing to all the uneducated people out there: THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A POISONOUS SNAKE! you should learn the difference between poison and venom before you do something stupid and get yourselves killed.
No worries,I shall kill every snake in my path,,, or run away crying
that’s usually when people get bit. if you’re starving in the woods kill it and eat it. if not you should probably just leave it alone.
Yep, know all of the venomous snakes in these localities.
Have raised them for venom harvest.
Yup. every one I see will have the same tiny holes from a .44 magnum shot shell……….
Daniel Duck only in the Palace lol
WV has timber rattlesnakes. #fakenews
Venomous
There are poisonous snakes. Garter snakes are poisonous due to the toads they eat. The tiger keelback snake, in Japan, is both venomous and poisonous. Just don’t eat them and you’ll be fine.
