WWII bunker

The Atlantic Wall during World War II was used as coastal defense near the coast of France, Denmark, the Netherlands, and it went all the way up to the coast of Norway. Nazi Germany built it so that they could defend themselves against an invasion from the Allied forces.

This wall was built with several means of defense: coastal guns, artillery batteries, and more. Plus, the bunkers were made to shelter thousands of men under one surface.

The many layers of bunkers for soldiers was also furnished with an engine room for power as well as a ventilation room. You also could only access the bunkers at entry points that led down a long stairway.

Have you ever been curious as to what the Atlantic Wall looks like now? Watch the video on the next page so you can see the ruins of a former bunker that used to be hidden for decades!
