7 Things to Scavenge From Cars When All Hell Breaks Loose

abandoned-wrecked-car

After a SHTF situation, one reality is that there will be a lot of abandoned vehicles due to the severity of the aftermath.

Abandoned vehicles can provide a lot of survival materials, tools, and applies that you can utilize post-collapse. However, before taking advantage of that car that's no longer in use, it's vital to make sure it's actually abandoned. You can't start taking things from the car unless you've established that it's indeed left behind by its previous owners.

Once you have established that the car is abandoned there is an unlimited amount of supplies you can re-purpose for survival uses.

Some of these items include hoses, mirrors, and the list go on and on. Use these supplies to your advantage and add them to your SHTF stash because at one time or another these items will be useful to you.

To learn about an incredible list of supplies and parts you can salvage from an abandoned vehicle, visit the next page.

Oil is another great resource you’ll need. Great for starting wet firewood, sharpening blades, smoke markers, smudge pots, etc.

Tires can be used for makeshift armor, boot soles, and various other uses. Seat foam can be used for bedding, vehicles themselves can be used for shelter. A hood can be used as a roof for temporary shelter.

Decent article. But why do we have to click ‘Next’ for each item?
Seems cheesy and click-baity, and definitely not professional!

Too damn much click bait! I’ve clicked thru 3 pages and have 2 of your 7 items listed so far. “1)Whatevers in the trunk. 2)Whatevers in the glove box.” F*** that! Just common sense sh*t buried in a sea of ads 🙁

Wouldn’t this be done after an extended period of time, let’s say months or years after. Wouldn’t the abundance of equipment found at home and in stores last?

Peoples feat of emp’s is really overrated. Any vehicle with a metal body will be largely shielded from the effects of an emp. Your vehicle will still run, just need to swap a few things out and your good.
