4. Nuclear War/EMP Attack
Any day we could be at war with North Korea, Iran, China, or Russia. The resulting devastation, whether a full-scale or a limited nuclear war would automatically set in motion the wheels for COG (Continuity of Government), and a declaration of Martial Law.
It may be impossible to prepare yourself for a nuclear war, but investing in a bunker that'll offer protection wouldn't be a bad idea. In regards to an EMP, just remember that a car may not be a valuable means of transportation which means you should think about getting yourself a bike or horse. Thinking of other ways to communicate with loved ones would also be advised considering cell phones will be no longer.
If you think we've covered it all you're wrong, because there's still another event that could lead to martial law after the break. If there was ever powerful information that should be a warning sign for you to continue prepping and preparing for the worst, this is it.

This is not Obama they are talking about, it’s Trump. Pay attention to what is going on.
