    Don’t bother with the inner bark. Depending on the type of pine it can taste like turpentine, and all of them it’s not worth much more than a filler food. Little nutrition for a human, just helps get through and extend what you have until you can get real food.
    Plus to get enough you’ll be girding a tree of enough bark to kill it.

    What the Dont teach you this stuff in boy scouts anymore ? What is the scouts coming to. I was a eagle scout and went on to be Explorer Scouts. I was with troop 1# the first boy scout troop in AZ. That is all we did was camping and survival training. Anyways there is a lot of uses for pine tree.
