Mosquitos seem to be discriminatory in their tastes. While some people always find themselves on the menu, others can't seem to figure out what the big deal is; they never get bitten. Take a look below to find out why that might be.
Clothing
Mosquitos are visual insects and they are drawn toward the color red, along with darker colors like black, navy, and brown. It may be to your advantage to wear light colors, especially during dusk and other times when mosquitoes are more active.
Blood Type
Research shows that people with Type O blood attract more than twice as many mosquitos as those with Type A blood (Type B blood attracted a med-range of these two). I’m type A- and my husband is O, so this definitely explains some of his popularity with mosquitos.
Beer
In one study researchers found that significantly more mosquitoes landed on people who had recently imbibed a beer than on those who did not.
The study confirming that your blood type may be to blame is very distressing because there's literally nothing you can do about that. Your only hope there is to hang out with a bunch of other people with O blood type and hope that the mosquitoes go for them instead of you.
The study on beer is also depressing… it's not like you're going to give up beer at your next barbecue… that's sacrilege! It appears that the only thing you can do is put on a lot of bug spray, wear lighter colors… and pray.
There may be some more reasons mosquitos prefer you over your friends. If you'd like to find out more, check out the original article at Ready Nutrition.

O- and I’m a damn Buffet.
O+ here and they love me
I used to give my dogs brewer’s yeast to repel ticks and fleas. It worked!
That is Vampires.
Bullshit, I’m a-, wear lighter colors at work, and don’t drink until the weekend and I get destroyed by mosquitoes daily at work.
They also like higher blood sugar, younger food, and recent consumption of garlic and onion help repel them.
Actually, it works on blood consuming insects too
Damnt I’m O positive and love beer

You know nothing
O+, drink beer, wear dark clothing. Rarely do I get bit.
I’m O- and rarely get bitten. I think after the summer of changing sprinkler pipe my body built it’s own repellant because I never get bit

Works good on people too! 🙂
Im one who dont have many problems with them and im O-
I haven’t been bitten since I fell off a bike, and messed my chin up a few years ago.
I hope they didn’t get paid too much for that study.

Garlic works for me, prob because I have it daily.
Horseshit I’m type O pos and they don’t bother me like other people
against me 🙁 blood suckers
I’m type A blood, and my wife is type O. Yet those little demons think I’m a gourmet meal, while they ignore my wife. Go figure!
They are attracted by the co2 you exhale, some people just exhale more than others
This doesn’t make sense. I am the poster child described in this article as the most likely to get bitten, yet they usually leave me alone while going after others.
