Sure you're prepared for SHTF, but what about the kids? When the collapse is here, it's important that they have the skills needed to survive too. Even though the worse may happen, you know the kids will be alright because you've prepared them with these essential skills:
- Have local edible and medicinal plant foraging skills
- Make a fire and know fire safety
- How to safely use a knife
- How to fish and hunt, using a bow and gun when old enough
- How to clean fish and wild game
- Find water and identify if it’s safe to drink
- Filter and boil water to drink
- Basic first aid
- Find or build a shelter in the wilderness
- How, Why, and When to stay hidden
- How to sew so they can mend clothing or any fabric and even make things such as bags or scrap quilts
- How to read a map and use a compass
- How to climb a tree to get away from predators, get directional bearings, and hunt
- Self defense
- How to be responsible for themselves and to be aware of their surroundings at all times
Are your kids well-versed in these basic survival skills? Don't assume they're too young to start. If you start at an early age by the time they are ten they will have the majority of these skills down. Imagine how skilled they will be as a teenager if you continue to teach them even more! please change youre layout for content. people prefer to scroll a continous article over dispersing it over multiple pages. i personally never click “next page”, i just close the post and usually “unlike” the page. not trying to be a jerk, im trying to help you out.

I really needed this info and so I didn’t mind the next page. FYI Thanks for posting. It was helpful enough and I got what I needed.

Hmmm. Having quality toppo maps of areas you are in, might be in, or aren’t in but border your area, and being able to read and use them is a good idea.
