Bots Are Beginning to Take Over Campsites and Permits. Here’s Why We Should Care:

primitive camping

It seems sort of ironic that people want to enjoy nature but unfortunately have to rely on technology to help them secure an ideal spot in a regulated camping area. Yes, it's true that we have to use our laptop or iPad to get us a prized camping spot because otherwise, those prized camping site tickets can disappear before our very eyes!

That's a problem. Even though the tickets may have gone on for sale a mere five minutes ago, all the spaces can vanish sometimes. It’s crazy and unfair but that's when we know we've officially witnessed the efficiency of a bot! A bot is an application that quickly runs automated tasks over the Internet, such as buying tickets for events such as plays, concerts and – yes – campsites!

The big problem with that is that a bot can and will complete this job a lot faster than any human ever could. After all, think about scalpers and how they end up selling tickets at expensive prices and there you have it.

After the next page read more about how bots are taking over our campsites and what we can — or cannot do about it.

    It’s pathetic!
Perhaps selling to bits isn’t the way!
Perhaps selling to specific people requiring identification, no refundable monies and them to show up is the answer.
