Aging is inevitable and with aging comes a reduction in what a person can endure, particularly in a hiking or survival scenario.
That old 35-pound pack that used to seem like child’s play to haul around all day gradually begins to feel like a boulder.
If that does not happen, the aches that accompany a day after an excursion in the woods, suddenly are almost part of the entire “day in the woods” package.
In a survival situation, those aches and pains are suddenly more acute and any prolonged activity comes with at least a period of stiffness.
That is age and it is unavoidable, so your goal should be to make your effort in the woods easier and thus less stressful to your aging limbs, joints, and muscles.
