Power outages are one survival scenario that affects all of us unless we are living completely “off-grid” and do not rely on traditional power supplies at all.

They can hit at any point in the year, making them easily the most common sort of survival scenario most of us will face at any given time.

A car accident taking out a transformer, tree falling on a power line, tree branch touching a power line, power grid failure during peak usage times, thunderstorm, blizzard, even in some cases, flooding all can cause the power to go out.

When that happens, you must know what to do to ensure you survive as comfortably as possible and to protect the electronics you have in your home for when power is restored.
