Fire is a key ingredient to making it through just about every type of survival situation we can encounter.

Without fire, our chances of survival are greatly reduced or at least the process of surviving is made much more difficult.

Fire lets you warm yourself, cook food and sterilize water, for example, but if you do not have fire, the process of each of those tasks is made much more difficult – which increases the likelihood you could die or at least have a much rougher go of it!

Of all the steps in creating fire, getting it started is obviously the most important!

What that means is that you have to have several types of tinder at your disposal whenever you can pull it off.
